As you are likely aware, GMB and sister unions have visited your school following suggestions that the school are exploring possible future models of delivery, including potential academisation.

We as unions are clear that we do not believe that academisation is best for staff, pupils or the local community, as we believe that education is best provided within the Local Education Authority who themselves are now exploring future delivery models including possible federations, to address current factors impacting all schools across the City such as budget and pupil shortfalls.

Please take the time to complete the below consultative ballot on whether members would be prepared to take strike action should the school proceed with a change of employer from the governing body to an academy trust.

We ask for your GMB membership number just to ensure that only eligible members vote and that nobody can vote more than once.  We do not record individual votes, just the stats as a percentage.  This is a consultative ballot, and if staff wish to take action, you will still need to be balloted formally in line with the law.
