GMB is a general trade union. We organise our members so that they have a voice at work and can defend and improve their terms and conditions of employment. We also provide advice, support and representation in the workplace.

Nationally we have over 500,000 members in the public and private sectors, in employers such as the NHS, schools and local authorities, ASDA, the security industry and in manufacturing. Anyone in employment has a legal right to be a member of a trade union and to be represented by GMB.

The Southern Region of GMB includes members in South London, Kent, Dorset, Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Brussels, the Channel Islands and within the AA nationally.

We aim to provide an outstanding service to our members and achieve this through thousands of workplace organisers who are supported by our full time staff and legal advisors.
