As per our recent communications, GMB has been making representation to SCAS management regarding the grading of the ACA job role.

We have had the ACA role re-evaluated under the NHS Agenda for Change grading system and are confident that you are currently in the wrong banding and therefore clearly underpaid for the work you do.  Since this has been going on for some time, we believe you are also entitled to back pay.

SCAS have been dragging their feet over this, and we believe they may be trying to wait until your employment transfers to EMED, so your new employers have to deal with this issue and all the associated costs.

We believe this will be better for you if sorted now, and are now balloting you to see if you would be prepared to take industrial action to force management to have the discussion with us.  This is a consultative ballot, and if we receive a YES vote to either question, we will still need to conduct a formal, legal, postal ballot before you can take any action.

For information, action short of a strike may take many forms, including working to rule, withdrawal of goodwill and/or refusal to work overtime.
