GMB is asking all members within Kent County Council to vote on this year's pay offer, which was sent out in a bulletin on 27th February. The offer consists of the following elements:
This will be achieved in three steps:
1. 2025/26 All employees at grades Entry Apprentice & KSA- KSE (formerly KR3-7)
will receive an additional day's annual leave this year.
2. 2026/27 Employees with less than five years' service at grades Entry Apprentice & KSA- KSE
(formerly KR3-KR7) will receive an additional day's annual leave.
3. 2027/28 Employees with less than five years' service at grades Entry Apprentice & KSA- KSJ
(formerly KR3-KR 12) will receive an additional day's annual leave.
The percentage offer for all grades is:
1. KSA to KSD (KR3-KR6) to increase by 5%
2. The bottom of KSE (KR7) by 4.1%
3. 3% for all other grades above the bottom of KSE (KR7).
When combined with the effect of transitioning to the new pay strategy following the withdrawal of TCP this will see an average pay increase of 4.75% across the organisation this year.
For full details of the impact of the pay award and pay strategy implementation on salary bands, please see the KCC Kent Scheme Update or speak with a rep.
This ballot is open until 12 noon on Thursday 1 May 2025.
