Local Government and Schools Pay Survey 2019

Download as PDF

If you work in local government or a school, make sure you have your say on pay by 30th June!

GMB is the union for local government and schools staff, and we will be negotiating on your behalf to secure the best deal for you for 2020/21.  Before we can do this, we need to find out what you, as members, want from the pay deal – if the deal is not right for you, then it’s certainly not right for us.

Please take the time to fill in our survey so we can best gauge what it is we should be asking for on your behalf.  You can do this online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/gmb-localgov-schools-survey or by downloading the newsletter version on the top right of this page and returning it to us either by post or by email.  All the details of where to send it are in the newsletter.

More details on the pay claim are also available at https://www.gmb.org.uk/have-your-say-pay or you can ask your local representative or branch secretary.  If you are not sure who this is, please contact the Chessington Office and they will tell you who to contact.

The survey will be open until 30th June, so make sure you have your say on pay before that date.  We will then submit a claim based on your survey results to the employers in July.

If you work for the local council or in a school in Kent, Surrey, Bromley or Medway, you do not need to complete the survey as they have their own negotiating groups, so are not covered by this agreement.  If you work for one of these authorities, you can contact your local representative or Branch Secretary for an update on when your pay negotiations will be taking place.  Again, contact the Chessington Office to find out who this is if you are unsure.
