Asia Allison, GMB Regional Organiser said: "In October, Theresa May told us that austerity was ‘over’ and there are ‘better days ahead’ whilst actual austerity still continues in her constituency.

"In November, the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Borough announced they intended to find millions of pounds of ‘savings’ in this year’s budget however, Councillor Simon Dudley has already tried to justify these cuts as ‘efficiencies’!

"Make no mistake; these ‘savings’ are savage cuts to include:

  • Cuts to Children's Services
  • Cuts to care for the elderly and people with disabilities
  • Yet another real-terms pay cut for public sector workers in 2019/20

"These cuts will have a direct impact on the services people rely on, RBWM staff and on the local community and most vulnerable.

"After years of drastic public service cuts RBWM have done nothing to balance the books, moreover, RBWM's staff have been left once again with the uncertainty of their future.  We believe that the time has come to draw a line in the sand and say, ‘NO MORE, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH'.

"If you are able to get along and join us with your friends and family, your support would be greatly appreciated. Let’s fight back together to protect our public services."
