Bromley parking strike looms as ACAS talks stall

Full strike dates by Bromley parking wardens have been announced after talks broke down

Dozens of wardens will walk out on 21 and 22 November in a dispute over pay.

Workers had staged work-to-rule industrial action, essentially issuing no parking tickets, since Monday [10 November].

This was suspended ahead of talks between the employer APCOA and GMB, which stalled when bosses pulled out at the last minute.

More talks have been scheduled for 17 November, the company’s last chance to avert full strike action.

Craig Prickett, GMB Regional Organiser, said:

“Our members paused their industrial action and reported to work as normal yesterday in good faith, so that constructive talks could take place.

“For APCOA to now delay those discussions is a perfect example of why our members are so frustrated.

“To say GMB is also disappointed would be an understatement.

“Unless a genuine offer that we can put to members is tabled, we’ll have no choice but to continue escalating this dispute, including the planned strike action next weekend.”
