GMB Southern Womens Conference 2019

GMB Southern Region’s Women’s Conference will be taking place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November 2019 at the Arora Hotel Gatwick/Crawley.

This is the 5th annual women’s conference held by the region.  The conference is an inspirational weekend of speakers, workshops and panel discussions all aimed to help women get more involved in the union.  It is aimed at existing GMB activists and GMB women who are interested in finding out more about the union and how they can get more involved. We very much welcome applications from women who have not attended women’s conference before, and particularly those from under-represented groups (eg BAME, disabled, young or LGBTI+ members).

The timetable for the weekend has not yet been finalised, but in previous years we have had Dawn Butler MP, Dr Rosena Allin-Khan MP, Dr Louise Raw (historian) and Barbara Plant GMB National President speak.

To attend the conference you should get in touch with your GMB branch secretary to express an interest in the conference.  However if you do not know who your branch secretary is, or are unable to get in touch with them you can express an interest in the conference by filling out the form below.

Filling out this form does not guarantee you a place at the women’s conference.  It is an expression of interest and we will get in touch with you when we receive the form.  The deadline for nominations is Tuesday 1st October at 12noon, so make sure you get back to us before then.
