In Guildford, Labour has been taking the fight to the Tories and Liberal Democrats on a number of issues. Whilst the Tories and Liberal Democrats continue to ignore the complaints of residents, we have been listening, learning and acting on behalf of those who need our help.

On affordable housing, we have continued to provide a voice for those who cannot afford to live in Guildford. The Tories have viscerally opposed an increase in affordable housing; a position that will drive youngsters, professionals and the poorest in our society away from Guildford.

Our state of the roads campaign has also provided a voice to those who are ignored by the complacent county council. We have started a petition calling upon the county council to take action on the dreadful state of our roads and the response has been extremely positive. It is an issue that the community cares about and we will continue to act.

But with a general election campaign around the corner we need your help. We need help getting our message out there. The Labour and trade union movement is on the side of the helpless in our society and we deserve better from complacent administrations in Surrey and Guildford.
